Minhao Zhou

Minhao received his BS, MS, and PhD degrees from the Mechanical Engineering Department at UC Berkeley in 2016, 2017, and 2021, respectively. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Berkeley Biomechanics Laboratory, and his current research aims (1) to use a computational approach to investigate multiscale failure mechanisms in the intervertebral disc, and (2) to use motion sensing-based methods to better understand spinal biomechanics. Minhao hopes that his research will help with spinal injury prevention and back pain relief. In his free time, he enjoys doing physically challenging things, including powerlifting, climbing, and biking; he also watches a lot of movies.
